Why German feels harder than it should
Most learners do not fail because they are lazy. They struggle because the learning path is unclear.
German-only classes move too fast
You copy phrases before understanding the logic.
Books explain rules, not progress
You read about cases, articles, and word order, but still do not know how to build sentences.
Apps give answers, not explanations
You practise, but you do not always understand why your answer was wrong.
Exams need structure
Goethe, telc, jobs, PR, and citizenship require steady progress, not random vocabulary.
How GoGermany teaches differently
Not a translation app or a grammar drill tool. GoGermany teaches you how German works, why it works that way, and how to use it in situations that matter.

Clear English explanations
Understand the logic before you are expected to use it in German.
English-to-German comparisons
See where German works differently from English in word order, articles, verbs, and sentence structure.
Contextual examples
Learn through situations like housing, appointments, jobs, emails, university, transport, and daily conversations.
Structured practice
Move from recognition to active use with matching, word order, translation, listening, and writing tasks.
Built for exams and real life
Prepare for Goethe and telc-style skills while learning German for work, PR, citizenship, and daily confidence.
How every chapter helps you actually progress
Understand the situation
Every chapter starts with a real-life context, so the German has a purpose.
Learn the grammar pattern
Rules are explained clearly in English, with examples that show how German differs from English.
Build useful vocabulary
Words are chosen for daily life in Germany, not random textbook lists.
Practise in stages
Exercises move from easy recognition to sentence building, listening, translation, and writing.
Use German yourself
Final tasks push you to produce your own German, not just click the right answer.

GoGermany was built by Abdullah after 10 years of living, studying, and working in Germany.
After helping international students with admissions, visas, jobs, and life in Germany, he saw the same problem again and again: German learning felt confusing, unstructured, and disconnected from what people actually needed.
GoGermany combines practical Germany experience with expert-supported German course structure, so students and professionals can learn with clarity, context, and purpose.

Do I need an account to start?
You need a free account to access the lessons. Sign up takes under a minute and there is no credit card required.
How long do the courses take?
Each chapter takes 45–65 minutes. A1 (24 chapters) is roughly 18–24 hours of study. A2 (26 chapters) adds another 20–26 hours. Most students complete A1 in 4–8 weeks, then move to A2.
Is it really free?
Chapter 1 of A1 is fully free with no account required. The full A1 and A2 courses require a free account to track your progress. B1 pricing is still being decided.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. GoGermany is a web app that works in any browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox. No app download needed. Audio pronunciation works on iOS Safari and Chrome desktop.
I already know some German — should I start at Chapter 1?
Browse the chapter list and jump in wherever feels right. Each chapter is self-contained enough that you can skip sections you already know.
Which exam does this prepare me for?
A1 ends with mock exams for the Goethe-Institut A1 and telc A1. A2 ends with Goethe A2 and telc A2 mock exams. These are the most common exams required for German visas and residency permits.
